Cap dump, decent prospect and a late first for a 2C? No thanks from Ottawa.

hagalin is playing good hockey right now so I would not say hes a "cap dump". swap hagalin with sheary then if you please
first round picks always have value. doesn't matter if its late or not

I would do sheery and a first but not sprong as well. thats a hefty price to pay for a guy that could walk in 100 games

It doesn't matter if he's playing well right now, the only reason that he's included in the trade is because of his cap hit, correct? And I never said the first doesn't have value. But it's not enough to make Ottawa want to move Brassard.

I think Brassard would kill it here and love his game....... BUT its gona be Sheary, IMO Hags is too important of a player (again) to our team speed and he is the reason our PK has been good.

Just asking, where did you “hear” this?

Yes, the Pens did call on Brassard and the price was HIGH.

I don’t think we will be acquiring a center with term this deadline . . . Letestu or Cullen are most likely.

EDIT: JR will revisit Pageau/Brassard/Faksa at the draft . . . methinks that JR doesn’t want to trade his 1st for Kane/Grabner because he wants to dangle that 1st for a center at the draft.

Although watching TSN from Noon to 3 on trade deadline day is VERY fun. You don't want to see teams make trades just to be on TV. Rutherford was God-Awful from the time he got here until the Kessel trade. He then had the midas touch for two years. Every deal he made was great. Not good, GREAT! He stole Daley from the Hawks for Scuderi. Moved Perron for Hagelin, picked up Hainsey and Streit just in time, and kept Fluery at the trade deadline when everyone though he was gone. But since the parade for the 2017 Stanley Cup JR has gone back to God-Awful. The Reaves deal was terrible, especially when Klim Kostin is going to be a star in this league. Giving the Knights a 2nd Rd pick to take MAF was a joke, especially seeing how he is thriving while the three guys we've had in net have been less than stellar. Overpaying Schultz and Sheary were mistakes. I'd rather see us go with the guys we have then keep dealing just for the sake of change.

I "heard" it might cost them Ian Cole, Filip Gustavsson, Ryan Reeves, and a bunch of picks, but that they'll also get back some guys named Tobias Lindberg and Vincent Dunn. Can't reveal my source, though. For, um... reasons.

Lmao my prediction wasn’t too far off.
Gustavson is similar to ZAR
Cole is similar to hagalin
Reaves was garbage
And a first, and exchange of some other picks that made it very complicated due to Vegas getting involved ?

Yeah, you guys were pretty darn close. I think it's much easier, though, to predict things a month after they happen. cool
