i like this but im a pens fan. to me i dont think hunwick at this point carries any value at all. sprongs value only goes so far. would be nice to see this happen though.

Seems quite reasonable and more than fair to me. My feeling is though, since center is such an elite position, Pierre Dorion will try to hold out for a package that centers around a 1st round draft pick in 2018. Not sure he is going to find that anywhere unless it's in Pittsburgh. If the Pens did win the cup, they would have the last pick in the draft, which is basically a 2nd round draft pick, so it could be worth it. Still, it'd be a risk though. I'd like to see the Pens make a move for Vegas' Erik Haula. Not sure how attainable that'd be though, but always good for discussion.

Not even close. A good prospect, a meh bottom pairing dman getting paid too much, and two late 2nds. To start you'll have to turn one of the 2nds into a 1st.

Don't see the Sens trading away Brassard without getting a 1st round pick back given that they won't have one in 2019.

thats the concensus in the ottawa media, also the owner after retaining 25% of phaneuf salary will be hard pressed to retain on another. He is not that type of owner. doesnt like retention or buyouts

This. And we'd probably rather your 2019 1st if that was possible, as cbone stated above we will be without a 1st next year. Not a horrible deal though.

I think you're on the right track, but like everyone else said, they're going to want a 1st rounder to recoup what they gave up for Duchene. I like that you only retained 750k, because melnyk isn't going to allow much retention, if any. Hunwick may have negative value in a trade like this. Ott wants to shed salary not bring it back for 2 more years.
