Idk man, I don't think Maroon would even be a nice fit here, and to give up those assets... i'm not feelin it. The other trades are solid though.

I get that, my thought process on it is that:

He's a playoff performer
He gets under people's skin (aka draws penalties) to give opportunities for our PP.
Can play up and down the lineup, PK, PP, etc.

With Sheary:

Can only play with Sid (and even now he's not producing with him)
Terrible defensively

I think your selling the penguins short a lot here. Sheary is has term at a great rate for his production and Maroon is a ufa. You don't need to retain salary on hunwick either. I also wouldn't trade for cullen. He declining quite a bit and Minnesota is currently in a playoff spot so it wouldn't make sense for them anyway.

Trade sheary to detroit for nyquist or something but maroon doesn't help. Keep sheary instead of maroon

Sheary is actually good defensively. Good back checker. But his production is down. I don't think Maroon is quick enough for the Pens system.
