Spooner auction: minimum starting bid = any 2018 2nd

Rules: auction ends May 3rd 11:59pm
Only 2018 picks count
Only b or better prospects count: to be a b prospect a player must have been drafted in the first 3 rounds or a late pick who has risen dramatically since being drafted.
I hold sole discretion of value judging unless a case of very similar value which would indicate a tie. In result of a tie, the person who offered that value first is declared winner. Any bid that meets the starting criteria can win if not outbid. He will be sold to highest bidder even if only one bid is established as long as the starting criteria of a 2018 2nd has been met or exceeded.

Yeah, He'd just be a rental for me as a backup. I'm keeping Rask and theres no reason for me to lose Subban, a renewable asset, for a pure rental of a guy who in best case scenario doesn't play at all in the playoffs. I'd need substantial value to offset losing Subban for what ends up being nothing next season.

I'm likely to keep all 3 of them, especially Carlo. If I were to trade one it'd be Gildon and I'd want a comparable RHD in exchange.

Both of those players are former 1st rounders so asking for a 1st back for them isn't that illogical. People are dumb as hell on here about how much they value 1st round picks.. Unfortunately this isn't your team either so you can't do anything about it but not let it bother you.

As for Crouse: He was drafted in 2015. He's played more NHL games than 15 1st round forwards drafted over 2013 and 2014, so it's not like he's a bust.

For Subban: He put up very consistent numbers in the AHL over 4 seasons. Who else are you going to get around his age for any less playing at the level he is? Or do you just draft a goalie with that 1st round pick instead of trading it for him? That's got even less chance of becoming a franchise goalie than Subban has and he'd do it atleast 3 years faster. 1st Round Goalies since 2006 to 2012 (It's too early to judge on anyone after 2012), Jonathan Bernier, Riku Helenius, Semyon Varlamov, Leland Irving, Chet Pickard, Tom McCollum, Jack Campbell, Mark Visentin, Andrei Vasilevskiy, Malcolm Subban... How many of these guys is Subban not better than lol? GL getting a better goalie with a 1st rounder, it probably ends up being a wasted pick.
