No way the Flyers would do this. Your swapping a young 2nd liner in Lindbolhm for Pacioretty, then throwing in a solid bottom liner in Laughton, and a 1st on top of that is too much.

Wow, that trade is absolute garbage for the Flyers. Lindblom is a top 6F and we give up a 1st?

Flyers got fleeced. A bottom 6 guy, a descent prospect and a 2019 1st all for just Patches. Yikes

Obligatory reminder: Pacioretty has more goals in his career than every single player above shown. The way people are shitting on Pacioretty after one bad season in his career is like those Philly fans saying they should of traded Giroux last year because he only 50 some odd points and was "declining"..... Oh yeah I guess you all forgot about that right? rolling eyes

Yeah your right, Pacioretty at age 29, is probably finished in the NHL......

Not saying Patches is bad but for 1 season of him this is way too much. I am very high on Lindblom.

Obligatory reminder... Patches is on the last year of his contract. And the same time he is due a new contract the Flyers will also need to hand out deals to Provorov, Konecny, Sanheim, and possibly Simmonds. Picking up Patches guarantees Simmonds is gone. Also saying it is a good deal because Patches has more goals/points than all the players mentioned is a weak argument since by that logic the Habs should trade the Flyers Galchenyuk straight up for Flip since he has more career goals than someone with a decade less experience than him.

Maybe the value is right, maybe not, but Habs turn that down. For me the only decent piece is the 1st rd pick. Sure Lindblom looks like a solid prospect, but getting a young winger and a bottom 6 C does absolutely nothing for MTL.

Honestly, in terms of prospects, Rubstov or Frost would need to included in any deal for one of MTLs best players. the package would be vastly different, but that's how I see it.

To try and put things in perspective for Flyers fans. Think of it as MTL trying to acquire Simmonds by offering their goalie prospects + a pick. Are MTL goalie prospect worth something? absolutely. Do they do anything for PHI? absolutely not. This deal is no different.

Lindblom is a top 6F, Laughton is a cheap and solid bottom 6 C and a 1st can easily turn into an NHLer (likely a D man for MTL?)

This package is insane for a rental player and not one that I am interested in at all. Flyers are just waiting for their prospects to develop, not dumping prospects for aging stars.

I get Flyers fans are high on Lindblom, and I'm sure he has high potential. but calling a guy a top 6 W when he only has 4 pts in 19games is a tough sell, and it's not like he hasn't been given a chance, he's already averaging close to 15mins a game with PP time. So respectfully, from one fan to another, this package isn't as insane as you think it is. and considering this past trade dealine *cough* Rick Nash *cough*, aging star players are still worth a ton. and for me, I'll say it again, the only thing that interests me in this deal is the 1st rd pick. MTL has plenty of guys like Laughton (Bottom 6 C) and I'm not as impressed by Lindnlom, yet. add the fact the he's a winger too, something Habs really don't need at all....no thanks

You obviously haven’t watched Lindblom play. Just because the points haven’t come yet doesn’t mean he hasn’t helped that line dominate play when they are on the ice.

The Habs need everything except for a goalie...

This argument doesn't work. I'm extremely high for Lehkonen with the Habs, watching the guy play you can see he's a beast. imo the Habs best defensive forward, and he drives possession offensively. and although he scored 18 goals as a rookie, it's obvious he's having a sophomore slump. as much as I'd like to say he's a legit top 6 forward, his 18 pts in 62 games says otherwise. So I can't just start included him in trades with the expectation that he's worth that of a true top 6 guy, it doesn't work that way. So I just wont trade him, because other teams probably don't see him as a top 6 or aren't willing to pay a hefty price to find out if he can be.

You're doing the same for Lindblom now, but you're trying to trade him with the expectation that he's already a top 6 guy. It doesn't work. Sure, he probably has the potential to be a top 6, but he might not, and 4 Pts in 19 games is not making me want to risk finding out.

and Habs absolutely do not need more young wingers...come on now, Drouin, Galchenyuk, Lehkonen, Hudon, Scherbak (althought he plays RW) are all left handed shooters playing the wing, not counting Vets like Pacioretty and Byron who also play LW. Sure let's make a deal and add another LW to the mix...

This is all pointless anyways because there is zero chance Hextall trades Lindblom.
