What could it take to get JVR?

Description

We've all seen the rumor by now that Toronto is willing to take Bickell(just a matter of what the details would be). But what would it take for the Hawks to bring JVR back the other way? Without retaining money on Bickell and getting the Leafs to retain about a quarter or more of JVR's deal. Given that they're looking to rebuild it wouldn't necessarily be a stretch for them to trade JVR considering his age, it's just a matter of the price. Don't forget too that the Leafs can buy Bickell out in the offseason and only accrue a 1.5 mil caphit for the next 2 seasons.

Obviously most will say "Teravainen and Dano back the other way and definitely" but assume those 2 are untouchable right now and tell me what you think.

Don't think the return is unreasonable, but I also feel like a deal wouldn't happen unless one of Teuvo, Dano, or Pokka was involved.

I could possibly see Dano being involved if it means McNeil isn't. Though I also think that would take away one of the picks. Pokka is another one I see being untouchable at this point seeing as how the hawks need D next season and he's their best prospect.

I'm not saying that Pokka, Dano or Hartman is necessary in any deal, but the four players that you sent back to the Leafs do not look like they are NHLers. So a Chicago 1st, 2nd and the Bickell money to the Leafs wouldn't be enough for the Leafs.

I know Hartman is the hot name right now coming up in CHI/TOR trade blogs and I do think he'll be quite good, but serious consideration needs to be given to Hinostroza because he's actually played in more NHL games this year while also recording just as many points in the AHL (in fewer games obviously) than Hartman. They're both 21. Hino is a center probably ups value a little, but Hartman has Andrew Shaw like grit which is hart to factor in. Any way you cut it...Vincent is a serious trade piece.

I don't think the Hawks have the pieces to make a JVR deal work. I think it would be stupid of them to trade Teuvo or Pokka. And Hinostroza, McNeill, and Hartman would be pretty far down the depth chart of Leafs prospects. The only guy that makes any sense is Dano and the Leafs already have a bunch of guys that are exactly the same. Why not offer JVR to the Ducks and get one of their surplus young d-men instead?

exo2769: Thanks for the info on Hinostroza. Don't want him on my team, because that's another name I have trouble spelling.

Jarrett: Agree with you on having a lot of similar prospects playing forward. Would like to see JVR healthy and have a season with Nylander, Kadri or a healthy Bozak. Maybe his production picks up and his value goes up even more. Defence or goal sure would nice to top end prospects.
