Description
Chicago needs a back up goal tender.

Jersey could use more Right wing depth scoring, Dzingel is perfect for that. Can also play center if needed to.

Vegas wants more depth for another run, and also to get out from under Clarksons dead contract to sign people more people.

Calgary needs a first line right winger, Stone is the best option for them. Bennett needs a change. Burrows for Brouwer swap of fourth line players. Extra picks incentivize taking contract. Claesson is a good bottom 6 pairing left handed dman calgary could use.

Karlsson for Faulk, Bean, First, and Second. Pageau for Rask. Sens need a decent defensive core and faulk is only 25 and can still be a great dman when Senators are finished with their rebuild. Pageau for Rask because they have similar roles except Rask contract is 4 years and Melnyk wants cheap contracts for longer durations because he is cheap. Melnyk also said he wanted an nhl ready player, prospect, and picks so fits the description of what he wants. (Picks would be conditional on Karlsson resigning in Carolina)

Hoffman would stay another year because he said he wants to stay, he would probably be dealt at the trade deadline next season or the season after that. Cant trade Duchene because you just got him and Melnyk would look stupider if he traded him again after just trading for him, unless you get a good return (Duchene watch 2.0?) Bobby ryan contract is pretty bad but Ryan is still a good player IF he is healthy. Let the future play (Brown, White, Formenton, Chabot, Bean, Gustavsson). All of this WITHOUT a huge cap hit, theres still 12 million left that Melnyk could use except he wont because hes the worst but it wont break his bank in fact its less than this years cap, but with bonuses its about the same.

When it comes time to sign the kids, contracts like Brouwer, Clarkson, and MacArthur come off the books which is plenty to sign them.

I like all those trades! Extremely fair for everyone involved! The best part is that the Sens would probably still somehow be competitive (if the rookies can show up next year)

You could probably get a 1st for Dzingel. And that Stone trade is horrible. Stone is a key part of our future, and trading him for a disappointing player in bennett and a handful of picks. also swapping burrows for brouwer is the dumbest **** of all time. we trade a guy with 1 year left for a worse player making 2 million dollars for longer term.

I like Dzingel a lot but no way is he worth a first. Second at the most. Stone has value, if you are going through a rebuild you want to trade pieces with Value. Stone is the second best piece on your team. Handful of picks? Im not trading him for sixth and seventh rounders lol. You make it sound like its nothing. Brouwer/Burrows is fair...again you are rebuilding/taking bad contracts, if they get rid of their fourth line guy they will need a fourth line guy. Brouwer is about equal to Burrows in skill, extra pick to make up for the bad contract. Is the 1 star for trading Claesson? lol

I don't think the Hawks are ready to give up on Forsberg. He was a rookie thrust into a starting role. Give him some real backup minutes so he can properly develop and He'll be ok.

the one star is for trading the best winger we've had since Alfie for a bunch of maybes

Holy Crapp these trades suck...especially trading Dzingel for a 3rd and 5th...at minimum he's worth a mid-late first round pick. That Calgary trade is also atrocious.

Im not giving up on Forsberg, its insurance. Fors will be great but I think another year or a couple months in the AHL will be good for him to get confidence back after this year.

hahahaha youre insane if hes worth a first. He doesnt have the numbers to warrant a first. Lets look at a Senators trade during the deadline as a comparison. Brassard. You got a third for him from Pit and he has better stats, numbers and better face offs than Dzingel. You are over valuing your players. Calgary trade I probably could have added a prospect but its value is not THAT far off.

I should have added a prospect yeah but when youre going through a rebuild you will have to give up your best pieces. Its painful but necessary.

Stone is 25. He is THE guy that you should rebuild around. say the rebuild takes 3-4 years, he'll still be on the right side of thirty and he'll have gotten so much better. It seems foolish to give up on him for anything right now.

This was just a different direction for the rebuild wiping the slate (mostly) clean focusing on another of your big bodied prospects that I think will be even better than Stone (Brown). If the Sens wanted to rebuild around Stone they definitely could, I'm not contesting that.
