UFA rights=Nothing. If a guy wants to sign for 8 years so bad he should resign at a discount. Not many teams are willing to pay big money and term for UFAs after seeing what happened with Lucic, Moulson, Kruger, etc.

No to both trades to Buffalo.
Moulson has one more year at a buried cap hit so it's not worth giving up a draft pick for more cap.
Not giving up a potential first round pick for another dman when we are going to now have a backlog.

Is hanafin a bottom pair rental dman? Why is the only significant part of the trade a very late 1st?

Get real garbage picks and Bozak for Noah Hanifin, Not even close to what Carolina is seeking for Hanifin. They wants a future #1C for Hanifin. Your offer is nowhere even close to netting you Hanifin.

I think Martin can be traded for a 5th-7th to a western team, no need to take on salary.
Leivo may fetch a 4th or 5th rounder
Besides trading bargaining rights at the Draft there are no rights to JVR or Bozak as both are UFA's as of July 1st and I have to believe both will test the market and go to one of the highest bidders.
In regards to Retained Salary, I could be wrong but I think a team can only retain 2 salaries at the same time and Toronto already has Kessel retained.

I give you five stars.

Not because the trades are good (they're awful) or because the roster is good (doesn't matter, because the trades are so tilted in the Leafs' favor)

but for making me look like the decent human being I'm trying to be when I offer Orpik and a 4th for Kruger.
