GOING FOR FAULK!!!!

Created by: sheary00
Team: 2018-19 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: May 16, 2018
Published: May 16, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Penguins wood like to add either Hanifin/Faulk from Carolina, and do have some assets to do it. Faulk > Hanifin as his contract is still going and would be a RHD that is better developed right now. Sheary is too bad for his contract, ship him to Carolina in the trade. The trade may look too good for PIT, they may need to add a better pick, but Jordy Bellerive is an underrated prospect and just had a 90 point season in the WHL. Hunwick is just dead weight, gone. Hagelin's contract is for one year, but too much for the team, and Vegas will likely still be decent and could use a fast, PK winger like him, and give some assets back, but not too big. The Pens can then get Grabner from free agency to fill a spot. Also, Brassard plays wing to start. Let me know how you feel!

Hanifin is a better player then Justin Faulk. I'm a canes fan, if I see this trade I'm taking it and running for the hills before I get arrested for Robbery. That is an overpayment and a half. The first Sheary and the third would be fine IMO. Add in two prospects and a 5? Yes please. I'll rip your arm off for that one. Honestly if you take the prospects out and throw in DeSmith or Jarry, you single handedly fix the hurricanes.

It's all relative. Are we talking long term? Are we talking last year's play? Next year's play? Faulk's contract is up soon, but will also probably cost less per year possibly as soon as this upcoming year. I don't live in CAR, but out of the eastern conference teams I tend to root for them a bit. I think people are still in the excited phase for Hanifin. He took a GREAT step up last year. Not sure he's 100% surpassed Faulk yet though. getting close though.

Sheary would do crap on the Canes, only does well with Crosby, bad everywhere else. He has to play with a good center, and Staal or someone else might not be the best way for him to produce. The 1st is likely a low one, as the Pens would go far with either Faulk/Hanifin. Jordy might be too much, but maybe enough for Hanifin. Take away the 3rd though.

But the Canes might take a less deal to blow something up. But Sheary+3rd is not enough at all, if they take that I will run to the hills. But would Hanifin's contract be too high though for the Pens. Leave it up to GMJR!

I remember when we had him in Carolina, This core is ageing rapidly. Expect Rutherford to leave when he has to blow it up. Shery with Aho and Tuevo would be fine. He's proven he can be in the right spot to recieve the puck and score when it's given to him. That first and third could be used to get a rental at the deadline. The fifth maybe to move up in the draft. throw in the two prospects and Carolina is the clear winner of this trade and by a country mile.

Don't think that Carolina will go for this trade. They NEED to get equal or more value back. I think that a better option would be Hanifin, but based on what I've seen, it seems like a trade with Boston for Hanifin seems like what will happen. Hunwick is complete garbage, you can't get a 7th for him. As for Hagelin, I don't think Vegas will trade Lindberg, a 2nd and a 4th for a cap dump.

This is a super interesting Pens-Canes trade. My initial reaction was the Canes wouldn't do it, but I was quite surprised to see Canes fans in favour in the comments.
