Any of these ideas fair? I would guess Yzerman and Co. are a little ticked off, but are always more for the long game, so probably won't make many moves if any.

    #panicbutton

I take it you don’t watch the Lightning much, but nonetheless I will bite. I mean outside of laying the blame solely on Cooper being out coached, which has become a disturbing trend, there seems to be something missing on the roster. Stamkos disappears in big games, although I am betting he was injured again this playoffs. We don’t want to become the Sharks of the East, constantly falling short when it matters most, but hey maybe we already are? No panic here, just ideas that I know are a little too out there for our management.

I could be wrong but I think they are going to look for a roster player back if they decide to trade him, but maybe they will take the cap space to pursue something bigger. Not a bad idea.

yeah the rangers got win in 2018 or 2019 on that pick-- smart from their end since they didn't end up getting foote/raddysh

If the Lighting are hitting the #panicbutton, what are most of the other teams in the NHL doing?

I'm not sure how you could say Cooper is getting outcoached, but usually head coaches receive the blame and he's the kind of coach that would put the blame on himself.

At the end of the day, TB was one of the last 4 teams left in the NHL, and lost in a game 7 against a good WSH team who had a hot goalie in games 6 and 7. At some point, you agree that TB was easily good enough to win the cup, they just lost a series too another good team. They have a loaded roster, a great prospect pool, and have somehow still managed to keep the cap under control. I feel like TB has nothing to panic about.

I do believe there is a strong core in place with Hedman, Kucherov, and Stamkos; and you can probably also add Point, Vasilevskiy, and Sergachev to that list as well. With Cooper he is just not good at adjustments especially in-game, unless something falls into his lap like the triplets did, and then he rides it to the end. Not sure how he worked it into his head that Kucherov and Stamkos are inseparable, but at points they were a detriment to the team together, yet he would not yield. I am no saying it is all his fault though, as obviously the players have to want to play. Bowness runs the defense and penalty kill, and I think even the casual Lightning watcher can see they are schematically atrocious quite often. There is no doubt the talent is there and there is no doubt the prospect pool is good too, but I have to think something small will be changed. That could be firing Bowness and that could be trading a non-core someone out of the top-9. I don't know, but I hope they make at least one move just as a wake up call if nothing more, because there definitely seems to be some complacency now with this roster. I had us losing to Boston just because of history, so I was surprised when we took it to game 7 in the ECF against Washington, especially with how the team played at times in front of Vasilevskiy.

    Five stars for wanting O'Reilly
Wow that is a Huge offer for O'Reilly. I seriously doubt that Steve Yzerman would offer that much.
If Botterill was given this for O'Reilly, I could not see him saying no.
smile Let's make deal!! awesome face
