Random Thoughts FLA / DAL trades

Description
Habs need a couple of prime 1C-2C prospects, what price are they willing to pay? Move roster players for draft picks/prospects. Borgstrom, Veleno, Poehling and Zadina should help solidify up front in a few years. Defense still needs help, but there's a good chance of another top-10 draft pick next year....Pick up John Moore to solidify left side, keep Mete with Weber if it's working.

Explanation is sound but Borgstrom isn’t available. Bjugstad, Petrovic, and a 3rd.

They have Sam Steel whos probably making the team next year. Montreal won't settle for anything less then ideal for Pacioretty. The Byron trade is excellent as well. If this is what our offseason looks like, then I'm excited.

MTL RD isn't horrible, maybe they would want Bjugstad, Mascherin rights and 2nd for Patches+lower pick

Mmm a first round pick for depth scoring is asking a lot and Dallas has number 13 not 12.

It's a good though but I don't think DAL would even give up #13 for Byron and a 2nd. Teams just value 1st rounders so much these days.

1st round pick for Byron is asking a lot...
Just throwing this out there... maybe if we take Spezza off their hands (he only has a year left on his deal), DAL might be more enticed to give us a 1st for Byron. It'll give them cap flexability with this years UFA shopping.

Although I think the Pacioretty proposition is a good one, I'm not sure FLA is desperate enough to do that. I think their are other teams that are more desperate, that will do a similar deal. Teams that have either been bad for a long time and want to be good now (EDM?) or teams that are near the top and want to add a piece (WIN? PIT?)

I don't think FLA is close enough to winning that they would consider letting go of a good prospect like Borgstrom for one year of Pacioretty.
