Our gm would have to be as stupid as chiarelli to do this.

Only way I would take that trade if I was BUF was if I had a deal in place to move Pacioretty for a 1st round pick in 2018 and a prospect. Which altogether is not impossible....

What if I change Scherbak for Juulsen? Or even include both in the proposal?

If we move Oreilly to Montreal, I really hope one of the pieces we get in Lehkonen. Would you do Patches, Lehkonen, and pick 35 for Oreilly?

@Mikeys Sure that would be a deal. But I don't think your GM would accept it.

Honestly, I would negociate to replace the pick 35 for the 62, but at the end of the day i would probably accept the deal. You would have to take out the conditionnal pick tho

Yeah, I’m trying to not devalue Patches as much as other Sabres fans do here. I get the age thing, but just because he’s 30 doesn’t mean he doesn’t hold value. I could see us swinging this then like mentioned by Biscuits us having a deal to flip Patches to a team for younger assets

Edit: I also forgot about probably a steeper price due to trade within the division. Not sure if that would come in form of another pick or Byron/Scherbak

Canucks say no thank you. Sutter actually plays a decent defensive role, whereas Shaw will be forever looked at as the player who got traded for Alex Debrincat.

Pacioretty is an elite NHL LW. Any team that has him is very fortunate. For the longest time I felt Pacioretty=

Max is still an elite player. But He lost that grit he had before the incident with Chara. Since then he is still a good score, but he does not play with the same pace.
And yes, He has been awesome for MTL, a great bargain, a piece to make you win the cup but we could not build properly around it. Now he will ask too much for what he's worth...

If Pacio was signed at 4,5 for another 3-4 years, It would be no deal. That said, I think we could make a flip for a bunch of prospect and picks at the playoff race. He will be worth a lot for sure, adding a guy like him to your roster with like no salary cap hit will be very nice.
