2 bottom 6 players, a late 2nd, and a late 3rd will not get you Skinner.

I don’t see Nashville Needing Kessel especially with the stuff they can get in FA. So they would rather keep Ellis and their pick rather than gain a useless player when you can get almost the same production with out paying as much.

I would rather trade for Pacioretti than Skinner. Ellis is a real solid defenseman.nod

Some Pittsburgh fans are obsessed with Skinner, I just don’t see it. We don’t need him especially for what it would cost. That’s way too much to give up in my opinion. No way $4M for Grabner also. The Kessel trade though, hell yes. I thinks it’s fair and a solid trade for us

The value is more on point than you actually think... Problem is teams out bid each other into over paying. Skinner is at best a good 2nd line player on a legit playoff team. New ownership in Carolina will be looking for picks and young players, so throw a higher pick in this model. Grabner is a 3rd liner that is worth no more than 4m but will get someone to pay a bad contract to him, which good for him. The Kessel to Preds trade, I really wasn't sure, especially the pick. I'm pretty sure against the Jets they had some real trouble scoring goals, Kessel would obviously help that. They definitely missed Neal's sniping abilities in tight areas and it was obvious. What's really funny is the fact everyone, including me, make the Kessel trades but have no idea what teams are truly on it. Would honestly love to see him stay, just don't see it at this point.

I honestly think its more likely than not that he returns. I think it is more media overblown hype than anything. While I wish he would stay I am alright if they trade him for the right return, Nashville I could see being a decent partner cause they could use a winger like phile and Pittsburgh could use defense which Nashville is loaded with. However kessel is much more valuable than ellis so Nashville would have to kick in more for it to be a fair deal. As for grabner, we already have a 4m a year guy in hagelin who is similar but he only has a year left on his contract, so could resign/extend for cheaper future years, if grabner takes less than 4 it is an improvement, if he requires 4 for multiple years you already got hagelin for that for 1 year.
