As a Flyers fan I was very happy to see that we are one of the teams in consideration for EK. As much as I hate seeing Ghost go, I think this setup looks great.
The trade looks great and realistic. The only issue I see is that Karlsson, Provorov would likely be the top pair with Sanheim, Myers as the second. As much as I hate AMac, he had an A this year and would be in the lineup.
Lastly, do you think the Flyers can resign EK? There are a lot of FAs in this setup that could cause some setbacks

Why would OTT take Ghost when they will have a Karlsson 2.0 situation in 4 years with him. If they were still trying to win now then I could see this but a dman with more than 4 years of control would be more of an interest. Also, you have to tihnk 2019 1st is more important than a 2020 since they don't have one that season.

I feel this is out of left field...… in a good way. Love the trade. Dont think that Philly is a likely spot for EK but very very good value

I would hope that in 4 years OTT is on the rise and maybe a guy like Ghost would want to stay. OTT could have new ownership by then and not be a complete cluster-fk in the dressing room. Just a thought...

How much PP time does PP2 get Nate? Do you even watch the games? Welcome to the block list, no time for your ignorance.

Gostisbehere is signed from 18/19 19/20 20/21 21/22 22/23
That's 5 years.

Is that long enough to build around somebody? Lol because if not, and if you're the GM....You probably shouldn't have a job anymore after 5 years.

I don't understand. First you said OTT needed a player that was signed more than 4 years (Ghost). I told you that he is signed for 5 years. What do you want him signed for 25 years or something??

And your new statement makes me unsure if you're saying they need longer? Or are you saying that Ghost makes them ready to build in under the 5 years? You're being extremely vague here.
Not only are you getting Gostisbehere for a great price, but you're getting a 1st round pick (that you don't have), and a promising Power Forward prospect in Ratcliffe.

I'm just so confused by your one sentence answer.

Sorry I read the contract wrong. 4 or 5 years isn't the issue. But guys like Sanheim/Myers have 6 to 9+ years of team control (not contract term). Ghost doesn't. He rips other people when they offer Sanheim or Myers/1st/Ratcliffe/2nd/Hogberg but claims this is exactly fair. Also, his reasoning for why Ghost needs to be traded is because in his opinion Ghost and EK are the same thing and could never coexist on the same team. Not because it makes a deal more fair, but because we can't afford to pay Ghost all that money if he's on PP2 and there is no way that he could bring himself to remove Provorov form PP2. In turn, he justifies an EK contract by saying he'll be on the 2nd pairing at ES where the majority of the game occurs which is completely contradictory. The logic behind the deals, the mindset of assets like Ghost being expendable, and the fact that tactics/game plans can't be adjusted to accommodate superstar players is baffling and in turn gave him a 1 star. By this logic we should trade Lindblom because we signed JVR, trade NAK because he resigns Simmonds, etc. He one stars every Flyers fan that puts Sanheim or Myers in a trade so I don't know why he's complaining about me rating his reasoning for trading Ghost where it belongs. I'd give this a 3 but when you hear the reasoning it's easily a 1.

I just thought you were being on the side of OTT saying they wouldn't accept Ghost because he's signed for "only" 5 years. Everything else is up for debate and probably shouldn't be taken too seriously because there are like 100 Armchair GM proposals an hour.

This particular proposal, I'd take Ratcliffe away, or like I think you're suggesting.... add a different D prospect trying to keep Ghost.
