JVR is overpaid by $1m or even more and a one dimensional player. Hopefully for Philly, they won't regret the decision this year or next, but by year 3 at age 32, that contract will not be looking that good as a 3rd line player net front player.

Well his contract amount is meaningless to us because of the cap space we have. We got exactly what we needed which is a goal scorer.

well get laughing, if you compare player by player Pittsburgh has a better forward core even with this move(it does make it closer)
Crosby and malkin are both better than any flyers player(wait nvm I forgot Crosby sucks, not enough hattricks during the playoff series), kessel and guentzel are better than the third and fourth best. Both teams are similar in that their strengths are their forwards.

Tampa, Toronto, and Pittsburgh have stronger forward groups and that’s just in the east

Wow yes this would be the best offense in the league. Also you'd need a bit more for Stone.

We do? I think you better take another look!

    For the rest of you...

PIT is probably equal, maybe slightly less. Tampa, is likely in the same boat as PIT. The thought of Toronto is laughable!

Washington nope! That Russian doesn’t make a whole team. Washington won because of their D not their O.

Your right that they’d need more for Stone but take a look at Winnipeg or Tampa Bay, this is an amazing offense but it’s not the best in the league

Whose 3rd line matches up with this one? Our 4th line is also a lot of teams 3rd line.

Well didn't Pittsburgh just eliminate the Flyers this past playoffs? Pittsburgh had 28 goals and the Flyers had 15 goals and got shut out twice. Flyers forward group does not compare to the Pens. Especially when the playoffs come around and Crosby, Malkin, and Kessel show up and perform unlike Voracek and Girwho. There is not 1 stat that you can say that proves you right

I didn’t realize that this was the same team that just lost in the playoffs...

Doesn’t this team have JVR and Stone?

Even if they did have JVR and Stone, they wouldve been outscored. Face it, the Penguins have better offense and better forwards. Your 2 "superstar" players didnt even show up. Girwho had what like 1 goal and 1 assist? Like I said, theres nothing to back you up

Lmao what do you mean there is nothing to back me up? Adding two scorers, one of which is also very good defensively helps this team a lot. Also, not having a donkey like Brandon Manning and 2 healthy goalies would help.

The Penguins depth doesn’t match up to this lineup.

Right. Let me know when the Flyers have a guy that scores 90 points playing on the 3rd line. The Pens have a better top 6.

Centers: Brassard> Patrick as of now.... Sheahan>Laughton
LW: Lindbolm> Pens 3rd LW even though Lindbolm is very unproven... Reese=Weal
    RW: Kessel>Simmonds.... Rust>Raffl

    Rust = Raffl
Jessel isn’t a third liner and basically played top 6 all year. Good try though.

Rust>Raffle. But you're too closed minded to realize that. Kessel played 3rd line most of the year. Hence why the trade rumors came up this offseason because he was upset playing the 3rd line and wanted more 2nd line time with Malkin. Good try though.. I dont understand how Flyers fans wanna talk the most crap, but have no reason to.

Lol he wanted to play with malkin in the playoffs, that is why the rumours came up. Kessel was with malkin for just under 600 faceoffs, 2nd most on the team next to Haglin. So next time you make claims, you better have facts to back them up.
