How are you possibly extending them PLUS Laine, Wheeler. Connor, etc. I highly doubt Morrissey signs for 8 years at under 4 million dollars ... way off!!

You let Wheeler walk as he's likely expected a massive raise longterm at the age of 32. Sign Connor to $6m long term like Ehlers. Laine gets $9ish. Worst case you trade kulikov and Perrault to make it happen.

As a Sens fan, I would give up if this was all you could get for the 2 players with the most value on the team. Trouba is an RFA who you're going to owe tons of money to. Myers is a 2nd pairing defenceman at best. Roslovic is a nice piece, Lemieux a mid-level prospect. The way I see it, you could get Trouba Roslovic and a first for EK. Lemieux and Myers do not add up to Duchene.

Best team based off what? People always say the Lightning are the best team, but they haven’t won anything. It’s a team game and it’s all about chemistry. They can have the most talented roster, but they can play with zero chemistry and it’s all a fail.

Also have to agree on the Morrissey money.... For 8 years I think you'd be lucky to get him at 5mil/year. I think 6 is closer.

A. I don't see how EK and MD make this the best team in the league. I don't even think that is remotely true. Maybe the best team in a weak western conference, but that ain't saying much.
B. this cap will explode the next year.
I don't like the idea of signing Karlsson on any team. He's 28 years old, he is gonna want an 8 year deal putting him to 36! No thanks. 5 year max deal is the most I would give him. Otherwise you are gonna end up stuck with a dead weight contract down the road.
