I get the hate for Orpik when he was tying up $5.5m per year but this deal is 1x$1m to be the 7D and continue to mentor Djoos and Bowey but also provide grit and leadership in the locker room. We still have ability to make a move before the deadline if we need help on the back end but this will be a good way to help see what we have in Bowey and maybe guys like Siegenthaler or Johansen.

He isn't good but for 1million he is serviceable.

Like I said, I have no problem if he's the 7th D, what concerns me is they'll play him more than 7th D. He shouldn't play more than 15-20 games.
