Marleau is a 35+ contract. You can't buy him out.

I like the extensions you used. It is better to be on the high end just to be safe. It will definitely be tight but I don’t see them buying on Marleau given that he is a 35+ contract and it will still count against the cap.

Cap is predicted to be 82m. You are a bit high on Marner but it looks pretty good besides that. If anybody moves it will be brown. I love him babs loves him, every leafs fan loves him but he is too expensive to be on the fourth line and it isn’t fair to him either. But as I stated the cap goes up and we are fine, when someone’s injured brown can step up.

This kid has put up 130 points in 159 games and 13 in 13 GPs in the playoffs.

Also take into consideration what he will put up playing with Tavares?

not that far off the pace that Eichel and his $10M contact if the Leafs don't get it done this summer they will be lucky to get him for that next summer.

No thats actually ridiculous. Pastrnak is as good or better and just signed for 6.67 less than a year ago. If you play with a superstar and he get you more points you do not get totally paid as if everyone does not realize why you got the points. Hes an RFA also something you seem to not understand. No team will back themselves into a corner when they dont have to. Some reason this happens every single year when people think Leafs players will make more than they will and every time they are wrong. Same with Nylander, the exact player same age/year/skill/production in Ehlers signs for 6 mil so somehow Nylander will now make 7-8 mil? Ya makes sense

Pastrnak also only signed a 6 year deal so the extra 2 years bought when adding an 8 year contact brings up the AAV as you are taking more years away from free agency and you will add a little more as the cap went up/inflation etc 2 years later so going from $6.67M to $8.5M range is not a stretch.

As far as playing with a superstar we are not talking about Hoglund playing with Sundin here.

Nylander will be in the $7M-$7.5M on an 8 year contract

Leafs will not sign him to something that high then it's common sense. If they can save a million or two and sign him 6 they will. They just need to get over the one more year hump. Your just creating negativity out of a nothing but positive situation

You guys are forgetting in order to get the cap relief from Hortons contract we need 5.3 mil in cap space to start the season. Also if you look at our D men leafs are hoping guys like liljegren and sandin will be ready .. if not we'll have to spend a few million on a couple more dmen
