Kapanen is 22. Try watching some games before calling a young kid a bust.

I have to agree with shaf_daddy. Kapanen is one of the fastest players in the league, offensively gifted, defensively reliable. Certainly not a bust.

Kapanen is not a bust yet. Montour is not even close to mid tier. that trade is not even close maybe take out all picks add leafs 1st and a solid prospect and kapanen.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Kappy score 20 goals and 45 points with top 9 minutes this season. Not a bust to me.

And who was an overager in that draft class? Montour. The kid is 24 with one full season under his belt. Depth held him down just like Kapanen.

Certainly a starting NHL Dman is worth a lot more than a prospect. Ducks are in a win mode, they would need at least a solid NHLer in return.
