right now i don't think it makes sense for sabres to do that or even the canucks because, well virtanen is still only 22 years old so the canucks could regret trading him in 2 years and, as for the sabres okposo still produces decently as of now

Canucks could regret it, but they are in a rebuild and they get another first in a deep draft, for 1 under whelming player and one who hasn’t met his potential. I love Virtanens style for the Sabres and I think the change of scenery could help him out

that's a hard no from Vancouver. Okposo in todays NHL is a solid 3rd/4th liner. If we want a type of player like him there are many available in the FA market..... oh wait that was already done. Rousell+Shaller+Beagle

He would have been top 6 in forward scoring on Van last year and top 3 the previous year. His prime is likely behind him but he's not a 4th liner, especially not on that roster.

that is the most fair assessment I've seen of Okposo - a SOLID 3rd liner in today's NHL. unfortunately he is making top 6 money...

Not at all. First he said a solid 3/4th liner. That’s completely stupid. Okposo had 44 points (4th on the team), on a terrible Sabres team (half the season he had Scott Wilson and other AHL plugs on his line), coming back from his doctors almost accidentally killing him. He is a solid middle 6 guy, can and will play top 6 minutes for at least the rest of this contract. He will easily prove that this season

And yet you give away a 1st for them to take him and get a bust and a 3rd pairing defensemen back

I don’t consider Virtanen a bust clown, I doubt Vancouver does as well

Absolutely a no from Buffalo, that 1st round will turn into a way better player than Virtanen for sure, also Okposo is a good player to keep for the leadership, PP and stability. PLEASE NO GUDBRANSON, he is total garbage

You put up a 1st in a loaded draft for a 3rd pairing defenseman and a guy who hasn't proven hes a top 9 player but I'm the clown.

    Right.
