WPG OTT (it's crazy)

Description
Karlsson comes with an 8 year 11M extension. Duchene and Stone have no extensions negotiated and are rentals with potential to re-sign but no guarentee.

WPG gives up a ton from the farm to go for it but looks at it as a Trouba is traded for Karlsson, and the rest for Duchene, Stone and a Stanley Cup as with that line up they'd have to be the favorite immediately. Will follow up with a year two trying to re-sign Duchene and/or Stone to see if plausible.

    Theres a lot of decent pieces there but Quality always beats out Quantity, if I'm moving Stone I want Vesalainen coming back.

    I think that Myers & Truoba are better that what they got to send to OTT ... this list just sounds better

    Meh not really, Myers is a UFA after this season and I don't see any UFA signing in Ottawa anytime soon. Same thing with Trouba if he wasn't interested in signing long-term in WPG no way he signs long-term in Ottawa. Too much risk associated with those guys.

    I'll believe that when Karlsson signs in a Canadian market (he won't). What else is he going to do? I'm sure the guy has a publicist.

    Actually the trades seem fair. Don't know how the Jets pay 11m for Karlsson and Laine etc. I don't think EK is prepared to sign long term with Winnipeg, just my thought he wants to explore more options.
    But a good effort for such a massive trades.
