That's just being greedy. Jets will find some way to clear enough cap space to keep him.

Never happening. The only player I think Winnipeg trades Laine for is McDavid and maybe Dahlin. I think Laine for Dahlin could be pretty close to fair value

Get outta here. Laine is not worth either mcdavid or dahlin.

Nylander and Reinhardt don’t actually fill any needs and don’t make jets first line, and jets aren’t looking for draft picks, and with laine these picks may actually not be lottery so why is Winnipeg doing this again

Would trade him for mcdavid LOL
But for dahin....... that's a huge question mark, maybe not

Not saying one of them is better than the other it depends on what the team needs and values them

Here is a twist:
BUF gets Laine, P and Kulikov, D WPG gets Reinhart, S., Guhle, B., 2019 1st round pick (SJS) and 2019 1st round pick (BUF)
Reinhart would be a reasonably good replacement for Laine, Guhle an upgrade over Kulikov, dumping Kulikov contract and 2 1st round picks. IMHO would be a decent return for Laine. All the same, I think both teams would pass on this trade. Winnipeg really does not want nor need to trade Laine and I think Betterall would not try to rush the rebuild. But what do I know, I did not expect the Sabres to finish last either.

"More even". You mean more of an overpayment?

no. Laine right on wrong is known as top young player. reinhart a middle talent, nylander might not even be classified as nhl player and those two picks in the 20s might not be of great significance/....in the original trade. not close to a deal
leafs nylander makes its fair imo
