For reasons I do not know St. Louis wants to move this player, I think 2 cost controlled players in Kap and Sandin would do well with the Blues, the Leafs and Blues have a trading relationship and they are weaker on the left than on the right. Sandin could even up their left side for years to come.
The Leafs will then have a top 4 of
Reilly-Parayko
Dermott-Liljegren

their top 4 is good for the next 10 years, and Zaitsev can be the steady hand on the third pair helping cheap players play with him.

Maybe the Leafs add another lower end prospect, but you do not trade Liljegren, he is on our right side for 15 years, Parayko would just be a great bonus.

Of course some Leafs fans and some Leaf haters think ANY RHD is a Norris candidate so the Leafs HAVE to make a trade.

I agree St. Louis probably say no, but this is 2 1sts and a 2nd. Just so we are clear, an elite penalty killing top 6 winger and a future top 4 D man and also a 3nd round pick.
I actually think in 3 years the Leafs would regret this trade and for that reason this is your best offer. Nylander never marner never .
I think Parayko would be a great addition, but he is not worth more than that to this team which is loaded elsewhere.
I would call and make the case for this, if they wanted the 2nd yo br another first it would only be in you won the cup this or next year.
The Leafs are already an elite team with CP he would just elevate them further.
This is why I like the Leafs even in the Nylander negotiation, we are great, you make us better. They dont have to overpay like Edmonton for Adam Larsson, but if you made a good case, St. Louis may be willing to move their 2nd pairing Dman for a package of 3 good prospects.
