Look again. Avs are offering this in this scenario not Boston. Oops.

Boston - Colorado overpays, just based on player value. Zadorov is a bright up-and-comer for he Avalanche. He played on the top pair for a majority of last season, and is a solid top 4 defenseman already at age 23. Meloche is a B prospect, and the picks on top of all that tip the scales way towards the Bruins. That being said, I dont think the trade fits either team particularly well. Krug is a really important part of Boston’s blue line, and the Avalanche already have similar players in Barrie and Girard.

Florida - Colorado is in the market for some forward help. I’m not sure Bjugstad is the answer though. They have a ton of center in their organization, and want to see how those guys do this season before they make a major trade for a forward. I think it’s likely they look for a top six winger next summer.

Philadelphia - The Varlamov situation is interesting. They have Grubauer signed for three years, so he’s part of the long-term plan. If Varlamov plays well, maybe they resign him and run with a tandem, or maybe he goes to UFA. All that being said, I don’t think Philadelphia is a fit for him. They have two goalies under NHL contracts, and Star prospect Carter Hart is going to have an opportunity to make the team as well.

Has nothing to do with it. It was created from Avs POV it is their offer to Boston. In this scenario Boston is not making the offer as you implied.

Colorado passes on all. This guy seems to have a thing about trading Krug to Colorado.

This proposal done is most def not done by an Avs fan. 100% no chance the Avs trade Zadarov, nevertheless they throw a promising young RHD as well as picks into the deal. 100% chance they DONT trade their 2019 1st rd and even if they did it would be lottery protected cause there is probably a 90% chance the Avalanche miss the playoffs last year. (so much went right last year just to get in the playoffs on the last day of the season).

I think the soonest they make a trade will be a the TDL and it will be Johnson (if healthy) or Barrie (an offer too good to refuse) if not or Varlamov( soon to be UFA), I think they wait till the 2019 offseason when they have 2 lottery picks int he 2019 draft and they have a better understanding on the kids (Jost, Kerfoot, Kamenev, Timmins, Makar, Shvyryov who is a big time sleeper prospect as well as other youngsters playing in the AHL.)

Joe Sakic has stressed they are getting younger.. They dont do that by trading valuable picks and young players just scratching the surface of their potential.

COL would make the trade with FLA, but no way on the Boston one, and I think there is a better deal at the deadline for Varlamov. Krug is good, but not worth those assets at this point in Colorado's rebuild.
