Description
As you may or may not know Brandon Saad is from Pittsburgh. He is currently a healthy scratch with the Blackhawks. What would a trade look like between Chicago and Pittsburgh to bring him home? The trade value wont be the issue it is more the cap hit. Please leave a comment. Thanks

Would probably take Crosby to get Saad from a Blackhawk fan point of view. LMAO

Maata or Sprong + depth draft pick imo would get something done.

But a deal between PIT and CHI is hard, it’s not like either team can take on extra salary.

The only problem I see with trading Maatta is that Shultz just got hurt. Sprong + makes sense if they can make the cap balance which im not sure they can.

Pens couldn’t afford to part with any dmen. It would have to take Hagelin and one of Brassard or Sheahan for Saad and a 1st. You’re asking the pens to take on long term overpaid salary, would have to take the short term salary back and add the pick.
I just don’t see a trade between the 2 being good for either team

would be hard to pull off because of salary primarily, pens never have much cap room and the blackhawks are the definition of a team with cap issues. So pens cannot take on the salary without retention and sending stuff back and Chicago cant/wouldn't retain be able to take stuff back. It would be like when the pens first got brassard and Ottawa wouldn't retain salary(because their owner is a cheap ******* so different reason behind it whereas the blackhawks are near the cap) so they needed to get a third team involved again.

Well it appears Brassard is playing on the wing now so I think the Hawks would be interested in him. Possibly Saad for Brassard + Future 2nd RD? Not sure what that pick would be but I know the Hawks would need a roster player coming back and Brassard would be a pretty good 3rd line center for us.

The Blackhawks actually have some cap space now...

It makes no sense to me, cause we already having some cap issues. So, what's the point to bring an overpaid player? It'd hurts us a lot. No way.

for that deal to work Chicago would have to retain basically 3million on saad, so it would be saad with basically 50% retained, for brassard and a mid round pick.
