Can’t compare duds to studs. If you agree that player A is worth this much and player B is worth that much than I think that makes for a comparable standard. The best Dmen make 11m the absolute best forward makes 12.5m but I think we can agree that 10-11m encompasses the elite in that category. The best wingers make 9.5-10.5m the best goalies 8-10.5m... obviously things like like signing date come into the picture. Cap hit percentage should be a good measuring stick. It’s not the end all be all, certainly doesn’t help with elc’s or players who fall off a cliff.... phaneuf

This is what LoganOllivier was saying on here earlier. He said Nylander is a $7-7.5m player so why would we trade him for someone like Pesce who’s a $4m player.
