Makar is an overpayment as soon as his name is added, thats the point here. If you are starting to compare him to any of those guys then you haven't been paying attention to his career after he has been drafted.
Bennett averaged over 2 points a game after being drafted, what good did it do him? Players with all the promise in the world have busted, it happens. You can’t say with complete uncertainty what he becomes. Every draft has 1st rounders that fail. And every fan base said how great they were going to be.
Tank is one of the best players in the game. Makar could be too, or he he could be good, average, or bust. You don’t know. Not really, you think you do, but **** happens. We know what Tank is. We know what he is worth. Makar is an unopened briefcase that could be filled with $100s, $10s, or $1s, or empty. And if you don’t understand that than you are close minded and lost.
Tank is currently more valuable than Makar and 1st. Period. So it is not an overpay.
Avs may not be willing to do it, and under their current situation that makes sense for them, but that does not make it an overpay it just means it does not fit Avs plans.
My comment was never about the Avs themselves. It was about Tanks value. Don’t care if Avs want him or not. If Blues move him he’s worth more than a 1st and a prospect. Lesser players get moved for more.
