How about Nathan Horton instead, guess that’s not fair value though with all of Weber’s health issues... maybe Habs add a 3rd.

Now, I know Leafs haters can't be logical about any Leaf trade. But tell me, the author this post thinks Nylander is 8m X 7 player....and is fair exchange of Weber. Tell me are there any other ACGMs that would trade one of their teams 8m player for Weber? I don't think any body would say Weber is worth a 8m or even a 7m 22 year old winger with still lots of upside.

i was correct. triggered leafs fans. weber is exactly the type of D man the leafs needed in their last 2 playoff runs. but please, continue to get triggered. pretty sure ur coach, whom has over a decade of coaching experience in the nhl-the worlds best hockey league, will know just a bit more then a fan on this website. carry on

Lmao... no we do not need a broken old Weber for a 22 year old star winger. Thank you for your concern though.

Notice how well the Habs have played this season...without Weber. Yea he's good but not the difference maker so many Habs fans are saying.

i know ur opinion , and i disagree . And greatly actually , there is a reason Chara is 41 and still a first pair defenseman that past haft the game on the ice . Weber as a special permission to cross check whoever come around on defence . Last one to have that was Pronger . U don't want him , good we can keep him and try to go as far as we can for the next years to come , i was trying to built for a far future ... keep Nylander and continue to go with Hainsey , Zaitsev and filthy defenceman u got and pay Gardiner too much ... im just playing on ur nerve either way . CONFIRMED . I personnally think that it sound good for BOTH team , but who know for sure ?

yes. that just proves that the team can survive without their number 1 defenseman. adding him would only help more.

Might have been Chara but what does that have to with 3 playoff round wins in 13 years Weber?

So, thinking Weber is going to make a difference, that's what the discussion is about. Habs fans seem so determined to get rid of him because they know his contract is going to be an anchor. If Weber is so valuable, can't he be traded to any of team.? Apparently not, it's always the same Weber.... for Nylander. Since the the Habs last won their Cup last in 1993, the Habs and Leafs record for playoff round wins and even playoff appearances isn't that much different. Don't fool yourself in thinking that Montreal has been that good fo the past 25 years,

its not like the preds were the epitome of success over the past decade. but he was hugely and still is consistent. he is still considered one of the better d men in the league, and is considered one of the toughest players to play against. even the leadership qualities are beyond the roof.

thats what u ignorant fans dont understand. his contract ins't an anchor. if ppl actually did thier research, they would know. first and foremost, he has only a mill dollar salary, but a 7 mill cap hit. u think maybe 5 years down the road, when a team is rebuilding and needs to hit the cap floor, they wont take a guy like him?? only the stupid and ignorant fans want to get rid of him. again, ppl dont read about the cap recapture penalty. thye think its a stupid idea, but its a true idea, and a guy like luongo and weber will have value if thye decide to retire before their contract ends. in that case, vancouver and nashville are in huge troube. and mtl has been better then toronto in the past decade. i believe in the past decade, the leafs have not even won a playoff round.

Ignorant fans? I understand FANatic homer fans . Hopeless Canadian fans don't understand, just begging constantly to Leaf fans to take Weber....please, please, please take him. If he is of such true value why would Hab fans want to trade him? No it's the more pleading that the Leafs (and only the Leafs) need him. And the crowning argument, he's not going to be good in few years, so he can be traded.
Let's talk about the now and future if you construction and well being of teams. Weber and his 8 years left on his contract,, that seem to be long time for the ebb and tide for any NHL team. Guess the Habs keep him and see how contract plays out. It might be good for the Habs, but still no reason why the Leafs make the deal.

buddy. habs fans are ready to trade Carey Price after 1 game. they'll trade Kotkaniemi if he has a bad turnover next game. worst mistake mtl can make is to trade him. finding a legit number 1 dman in the nhl is hard. fans are ignorant. and u clearly ignored my point of what current nhl players/coaches say about him, but u choose to believe a bunch of angry fans on this website lmao. and again, u leafs are saying Nylander is soo good, why haven't u signed him long term? if he's good, then pay him what he wants. and im 1000000000000% sure, that ur own coach, as stated before, would take weber for an arm and a leg. considering ur past playoff "success" u need a dman like weber. im not saying mtl is trading weber to u. hell no. he's a natural leader. but boy oh boy, imagine if u had a defensemen in last years playoffs who could play defense. that purposed trade is stupid anyways. huge age difference between the 2.

???? Saying Nylander is good doesn't entitle Nylander to a top RW money. I think he's about 6.5m player IMO And coaches are 99% complimentary to players publicly. And what else would Babcock or any coach say anything differently about Weber. Thank goodness Babcock doesn't control Leafs personnel decisions. He wanted Marleau...which isn't bad but that contract next year looks restrictive . At the draft he wanted Dman Hanifan not Marner.
In last year playoffs....and really it did go the third period of game 7, I don't now Weber would have helped. It was Babcock's inane and foolish line matchups and LHD Gardiner having the worse of the "bad Jake" games that cost of the Leaf a change.
