horrible trades. You can get more from either player. While I do thing Hörnqvist could be traded, he has a lot of value as a net front guy.

If the pens really wanted Dano, they could have just gotten him for free when he was put on waivers....twice. They’d look stupid to trade one of their better players for him

What would be your ideal trades for them?

neither one of them is getting traded unless the penguins are out of the playoff hunt. Which they currently aren't.
Only players on the block are Rust, Maatta, Sheahand, JJ.
those are the only pieces I see moving off this team any time soon. And it's probably for defensive help.

That's completely irrelevant, as this is obviously a theoretical situation. There is also nothing to suggest that Johnson is on the trade block other than fan speculation.

Penguins gave up a lot for Brassard, and I just cannot see them moving him. He is a good 3C and I wouldn't imagine him getting dealt. As for Hornqvist, I can see him getting a 1st back with another decent player.

Brassard is worth a lot more as a player and on top of that he has almost half the money on his contract retained which adds to that value. Hornqvist shouldnt be traded, he is signed to a good contract and for a while.

The whole point of this scenario was to make the team younger. Since Brassard hasn't exactly lived up to expectations, is 31 and on an expiring deal moving him was a no-brainer.

What’s the point of getting younger? This team is in a win now mode. Who cares about the age of the team. If Pittsburgh really wanted to get younger, they would keep their draft picks

You're missing the point. This is a rebuilding scenario.

Fair enough, but in reality, the Pens gave up a first, a young goalie and Ian Cole for him. Just getting a player who has not proven his worth in the NHL and a 4th is not much. I can see that you wanna make the team younger, but it doesn't seem like a likely case for the time being.. just my opinion sir.

Lol if you’re worried about standing this early then you haven’t watched penguins hockey. What happened when they were in the bottom of the standings a few years ago? They won the cup

That was because of their coaching change. This season isn't comparable to 2016

Ok ya you’re right. Let’s just get younger and forget about skill. Such a great move trading brassard for a guy who has 6 points this year in 20+ games. But who cares cause he’s younger, right?

Ok then in my opinion, i would say at least try and get more in return because i feel and especially with the brassard deal that they can get more

How can you give constructive criticism when the proposed trade is Hornqvist for Dano? I don't think that is possible.

Scherbak and a 4th... I'll give a 3rd. Scherbak might not have what it takes to make it as an NHL regular. Decent in the AHL, but not much for the NHL.
Dano a 2nd and a 5th... I'll give you a 3rd and a 4th. All that Dano does well is get hurt. The Penguins could have claimed him when he was on waivers. Their claim would have been before Winnipeg's. They didn't want him for free so they are not going to give up anything for him, ESPECIALLY HORNQVIST!

Have you looked at the calendar lately? It is still November and they are 3 points out.
