Assuming Jassan28 is correct, it doesn't bother me as Leaf fan. Sure I wish he was a Leaf this year. But I respect Nylander not signing a contract he doesn't like (as foolish as that might be), and I respect the Leafs for not wanting to pay too much (in their eyes) for Nylander (as foolish as that might be).
Not having Nylander this year. Look at as having him on LTIR all season.
I don't think Nylander plays in the NHL this season. Leaf don't sign him or trade him tell the Leafs have Matthews and Marner signed. So the suspense continues well into next summer.

I agree and I don't think he will play this season. He will also get dealt by or at the 2019 draft 100%. The real question is, who are Leaf fans going to target with this AGMs after the Nylander saga concludes, or will it never conclude? :P Last season, Leivo and Gardiner seemed like heavy favourite targets for these AGMs. I wonder if we will see more Zaitsev, Hainsey and Ennis-focused AGM trades.

You do know that if Nylander sits out the rest of the season, he will definitely not stay with the leafs. like he will 100% be traded. these negotiations leave a sour taste in a players mouth. both groups dont get what they want, then u sit out. ur not playing with that team again. done deal.

It will conclude. If he sits out, as I expect, there is a 100% chance he is traded. So yes, in that sense, fans will be all over these AGMs predicting the move and location but it will be a foregone conclusion he is no longer a Leaf. It is likely the case with Gardiner being a UFA at season's end, as is the case for Hainsey, but it's always interesting who the next target of the Leafs will be, especially those signed beyond the end of this year or RFAs.
