Going to take more than that. B’s have been talking to them for 2 years about him. From what i have heard of their expectations of a return it might be best to look elsewhere.

Doesn't really fix the Wild's needs. We have so many LW's that Nino is forced to play on RW, and the lack of a scoring right shot as been a thorn in our side for a long time now. Trading away Coyle only enhances that issue, unless we get a scoring right shot coming back. No way MTL trades Gallagher for Coyle (which is stupid anyways), so I don't see a good fit unless you sent us Suzuki (which again is stupid).

Basically, Coyle is a good fit for MTL, but the pieces of similar value that MTL owns don't fit the Wild's needs.

Make sense from a Wild POV. Hudon can play both side but lacks the impact you're looking for coming back from a Coyle trade. What about Bolstering your D-Core with Schlemko???

No real need for a D. Our 6 D are great and we have some good prospects in the system. Wild need scoring more than anything.

He's not really a scoring forward, so he doesn't fit our needs.

The only thing that would really get MN's interest from MTL is Poehling. Shaw could be worked into a trade, but I don't like his contract.

This trade does nothing for MN. 2 waiver fodder players (as every MTL fan knows and why they are in every trade) and a worse draft pick for Coyle?

Bergevin refused to move Poehling for ROR, zero chance he gets moved for Coyle.

I can see Hudon being of interest to MIN. He has an offensive touch and can play both LW or RW. Of course he would be an “add on” and not the Center piece of the deal. What about him and a young 2nd rd prospect? Ikonen?

But as much as it has been reported that MTL are interested in Coyle. I’m not sure where he’d Fit in the lineup... Shaw has great chemistry with Domi. Gallagher isn’t getting separated from Tatar. Lehkonen and Byron occupy the 3rd line wing and Armia is hurt but when healthy still averages upwards of 17minutes game. Unless Habs decide to lend Kotkaniemi to the WJ and FIN, and acquire Coyle to play at C. I don’t see it.

Hudon has no value. MN (like most teams) have Rau and Kloos sitting in Iowa that would give them the same 20p over a season as Hudon. He's a waiver fodder 4th liner. Wild already have Hendricks and Brown filling that role. He'd be at best the 6th best (I'd take Foligno over him too so 7th in my book) LHS wing on the Wild.

1. I did say he was an add on
2. Hudon isn’t a 4th liner. He’s a middle 6 guy, because he’s much more of an offensive player than defensive. It just that Habs depth at wing in their top 9 is ridiculous, as mentioned in my previous comment, so there’s no room for him, same as their would be no room for Coyle. A player like Hudon is worth imo a 3rd or 4th rd pick. Again not saying the guy is amazing. But definitely not worthless considering MTL have been throwing away younger players with more potential through waivers (Scherbak, DLR) in favour of keeping him.
3. Realistically I think Coyle would fetch something similar to what MTL got for Eller, and what they paid for Shaw. Two 2nd rd picks. So my initial offer of Hudon + Ikonen is on the low side (ouuppss lol) but not that far off.

But Hudon is the main piece coming back in this trade. Benn doesn't crack the lineup either. The Wild have already thrown 2 LD to MTL for basically nothing because they couldn't make the lineup in MN.

Coyle is the best player in the trade; and whatever Hudon maybe he's not better than: Parise, Granlund, Zucker, Greenway, Nino, and Foligno fits the 4th line better (all LHS wings). The trade is Coyle +3rd for pressbox/waiver guys + 4th.

Oh yeah I agree the trade suggested above is not good enough imo. Hudon as a centerpiece doesn’t work, Benn is nothing more than a bottom pairing guy so that doesn’t add enough, and the picks go in favour of MTL.

My comments were based on that I’d offer Ikonen as the Centerpiece (2017 2nd rd pick, played for FIN at the WJ on the 2nd line and 1st pp unit last year and would of made the team this year as well but is currently injured), and give Hudon as an “add on”.
