I was thinking the opposite. Why give up a guy you just drafted? Plus I dont think the Blues want to trade Schwartz.

Ottawa says no. Blues say no to that Toronto deal, it's complete garbage. Why trade Binnington and what makes you think he'll receive more than Allen in a trade? I also highly doubt Steen waives his NTC for Montreal

One who plays maybe 50-55 games a year and a guy who is probably going to walk after next season? I mean, I think it makes sense on tge face, long term not so much for a team still rebuilding.

the toronto deal is what the blues need most, speed up front. binnington only gets more if he wins the job from allen the rest of the way, i just picked the habs for steen but wherever he wants to go trade him for a pick, ott isnt out of contention so giving them 2 guys like schwartz and schenn would help them with scoring depth. as for marner this was saying in the off season if the leafs traded for petro they wouldnt be able to afford marner and mathews so i picked mathews for the blues being deep at center and i see the blues tanking for the top pick and getting hughes. the blues could have lots of money if they trade for picks and young talent instead of older vets like they usually do. and with Jblow coming off the books this year they could have a lot of money to spend in my scenario.

Schwartz is young and can put up points when "healthy" .if he gets back and at the deadline hes producing you need to make a move with him

Id say 8.5 for panarin max and Karlsson is struggling this year so that may hurt him. but also cost of living is cheaper in STL than most other big name cities( chicago, boston,NY,Canada) so the money goes a little further here

If you think Panarin gets 8.5 max, you clearly haven't seen him play.

Karlsson "struggling" is still a top 5 defenseman in the league.

ive seen him play yes but hes just below marner in my opinion when it comes to the the market this year. i think marner will get a little more than him as for karlsson numbers with offensive defenseman matter and right now hes not producing.

Marner isn't on the free market, Panarin is.

Karlsson is having the best overall year of his career if you look at his micro stats.

Yes but if toronto cant match a teams offer they may be in trouble. Mathews could be getting 12 a year if that happens i dont see them signing marner theyd end up like chicago 4 years from now having all thier money locked up in 4-5 guys.

Skinner will get $8.5+, Marner Blues got how? Karlsson will get $9+, Panarin will get $9.5+. Why is Casey DeSmith getting that much money and why are the Blues paying him?

It's cheap to live in Canada when you're getting paid in US Dollars

Yeah that really didn't work out well for Chicago, they only won 3 cups in 6 years.

Not to mention almost all of Toronto's stars are much younger than Chicago's stars were when they signed big deals.

SKinner is 6-7 range i dont think he stays like this all year plus its just one year of these numbers not like panarin or marner type numbers yet. also read the top it explains it everything you question. its all just what ifs

I read the description lol. It doesn't explain anything. Skinner will get offered at least $7.5-8 by Buffalo. He scored 37 2 years ago.

You still haven't explained how they got Marner? IF it was an offer sheet, then you have to give up the picks. If it was by trade for Petro you should put that in there.

i replied already saying if they trade for petro they cant afford both matthews and marner so the blues go after marner since theyre deep at center already. as for skinner i dont think hes a consistent point getter and i think to make over 7.5 you should be scoring 40 plus a year and/or around 75 points a year. he hasnt broke that mark once.

Okay so the Leafs are trading Marner in the Petro trade?

A LOT of wishful thinking here.

- UFA numbers are low
- UFA terms are low
- Marner magically appears for nothing
