Description
Kovar is one of the best KHL players out there and was training with PBruins earlier. According to what I heard, he has high hockey IQ, amazing offensive instincts but lacks skating, which was his biggest weakness. I thought sending Cave down for 3rd line play time instead of 4th line/scratch would be better for him and Kovar could easily help our depth scoring. Kovar can just bounce around the lineup. His skating has improved as I heard and could be ready for the NHL.

Kovar is playing in the Czech Extraliga. Boston wasn't happy with his skating or pace and cut him loose

you heard his skating improved? really? where did you hear this? The 28 year old who has played 11 years of professional hockey just decided one morning, "hey! I'm going to improve my skating!" If someone actually told you that he had improved his skating, cut ties with that person immediately.

Anyway, as noted elsewhere, he isn't even in the organization anymore because he can't skate.

Whats the purpose of bringing in another 4 liner? Seems like we have Acciari, Kuraly, Wagner, Nordstrom and Smith for that role..... that's too many all ready.

Really huh. I heard it from quite a few people that his skating was improved in Pbruin games. I mean he has worked on it for 11 years probably, not just forgetting about it. Skating can be improved. He isn't in the org because there isn't a space for him. I would like him on this team. One of the best centers in the K. What I thought was that he didn't need to skate as well as the two wingers which could help him. I could be wrong but how bad is he?

it's just such an absurd premise that at his age he would all of a sudden develop his skating. The guy has never been a good skater, had the worst season of his career last year, came over seas, signed with the islanders, was waived by the islanders, signed by the bruins, couldn't get to the NHL even with about 50 injuries, couldn't really stick in the AHL lineup, and all of a sudden his skating has improved? Who the f told you that?

Anyway, he can't cut it, so he's signed with a team in the Czech league. Not a Czech team in the KHL, the Czech league. Might be worth googling a guy next time.

One, he had 64 points in 53 games 2 years ago. He is in a Czech league as of now. 2. He is weak on skating and who knows what happened when he was with the isles. Also, I don't see him playing with the isles or the affiliation anywhere, at least in a regular game. Training is different as to playing a player in a game. I know he isn't great but I think giving him a chance would be fine. He could easily be waived off by us if needed. I don't see a problem signing him. There are breakout years and miracles... He does have quite good stats and stats don't lie. His skating might be weak but I think that he can help that 4th line score with his ability create offence. I don't know but what I expected out of Kovar is the same as he played in the K.

you're just digging yourself deeper here.

He's never going to succeed on a fourth line, he's just not that kind of player.

The isles did sign him, and after training camp waived him and told him they never saw him playing in the NHL.

Boston DID sign him....and he stunk, so they told him he was never going to play in the NHL, and he left.

FIN.
