I’m not wasting my time arguing over Gallagher vs Rantenen haha. Corsi is a great tool to compare players, but it’s not the be all end all solution. If you seriously think Gallagher is better than rantenen, kessel etc, you gotta quit reading all these charts and watch some games

Defense exists, y’know. You just listed two top 5 two way forwards in the league. Even then Barkov and Couturier produce at elite rates that Eichel just hasn’t shown until now. Give it time and maybe he can squeak in there. Just not now.

KANE DRIVES PLAYS. He plays with Toews who's slipping and puts up elite numbers. Rantanen is carried by how good MacK is alone. Kane is the equivalent to a MacK on our first line because he is the one that makes thing happen and doesnt have the other players as good as Landy/Rants

how do you know rantanen cant carry his own line? he has never been given the chance to drive his own line (which is fine cause he is a beast with mackinnon)

They easily are haha. Kessel had 91 points last year, is close to 90 Point pace this year, and has been lethal in Pens back to back cup runs. Not even including all his sucesss on the leafs. Don’t even need to speak about how good rantenen is

Gallagher crushes Rantanen in xGA, relTM XG%, relTM CF%, CF%, and he does it with a significantly lower QoT.
