#1- why on earth would the blue jackets even consider that Pittsburgh deal??? I like brassard and I think he doesn’t get enough love on this site and was a poor fit on Pittsburgh but wennberg is cost controlled and could still be a very good 2C

#2 Ottawa trade looks fair

#3 Carolina would NOT trade a #1RHD for brobovski whose a pending UFA and could target him in FA when he doesn’t sign with the jackets

The value isn't bad for Ottawa, but they decline.

I don't think Ottawa is interested in Milano. I don't know if he'll ever reach his full potential, and with Formenton, Balcers and Tkachuk all competing for those LW spots, I don't know that he'd be given the chance to succeed in Ottawa. I think Bjorkstrand is a much better fit for Ottawa. He can step in immediately to a top six role in Ottawa, and we need more natural RW players in the system.

As much as I would love to see Ottawa add Texier (I love players from non hockey countries), he doesn't address a need in Ottawa. Same with Carlsson. I'd rather drop both of them in favor of someone who can play The Right side D. Would Nutivaara be a guy CBJ would consider moving?

I want to keep Harrington anyway. The 2 defenders I would be willing to trade are Ryan Murray and David Savard. Murray only resigned a 1 year deal last year. Why? I think he wants a change of scenery and we may lose him anyway if he tests free agency in offseason. Murray is playing great right now too but we need to get value for him. He can play either side. I think the natural born Canadian would agree to a new deal with Ottawa.

Murray was betting on himself with that contract. He probably felt he'd be short changing himself if he signed a long term deal after a mediocre season. He's probably going to be looking to sign a longer term extension after a breakout season.

Not too bad, tough since each of those deals involve a rental.

I hope so, but we have a log jam of good young defensemen that need ice team and Murray is injury prone. The amount of time he's missed is staggering. Will he stay healthy or is it just a matter of time? His trade value may never be higher. My feeling is something has to give
