James Neal on Islanders might actually pan out greatly..

Eessssssh

I think CGY would rather see if Neal can bounce back at the end of the season, and would like him for the POs.
Both contracts suck, not sure there's any point in a change in the locker room.

If I'm a Flames fan I think I'd rather just keep Neal and see if he rebounds but there is the aspect to consider that as these guys age and decline which one is at least useful. If Neal isn't scoring 20G/40P then what is he doing for you?
Ladd would likely still play hard in the tough areas and be useful on a good checking line, can't really see Neal in that kind of role.
I don't know, I think I'd just keep Neal if I'm Calgary but I wish teams actually did these swaps of dead weight contracts... Lol

Calgary should keep Neal. He's better than he's been playing this year.

I think Ladd is more useful in the bottom 6 roll, under Trotz, than Neal is in top 6 roll, under Trotz. I know its a lot of money for a bottom sixer, but I think Ladd's impact will be slightly more than Neals for the dollars/term. Perhaps, if they were still under Snow/Weight "all offence" regime, then, maybe.
