Also gives them freedom to move Pelech or Hickey for another piece now or in the summer.

I absolutely love Saad, but he's just too expensive.

Why I figured Chicago would at least consider it. Would free up room for them for next season with cap and Saad could take Eberle's minutes for same price for NYI

If the Hawks are giving up Saad and Gustafsson, they're gonna need at least a first back

True. Thought this offer would at least get it rolling. I had a 1st in there originally

I'd rather go after Panarin than trade for Saad. Can Saad play RW? I thought he played LW with Toews.

I would too. Only problem with Panarin is he is a LW. That's NYI only depth position. They go after Panarin now with assets then they're in trouble still needing to sign him + signing a top 6 C AND a top 6 RW during the summer with Eberle and Nelson possible UFAs

Yeah, it's not too far off -- Ho-Sang and the picks are nice pieces -- but it needs just a touch more, especially considering how well Saad has played lately

As a Hawks fan I'm not a fan at all. Ho-sang isnt exactly a prime piece and where does Wotherspoon fit? The Hawks already have a ton of d prospects. The Hawks will give Gus and the 4th for the NYI 1st, but that's it. And I'm not even sure Stan should, but I'd get it if he did. Saad is a separate trade all together.

Exactly. No need for any of the players. Saad and Gus are worth 2 firsts or at least a 1st and 2 2nd's

The only way I would go near Saad is if Chicago ate $2 mil in retention. Isles have have players that fit his role already. They need to spend the money/make a move for scorers. I really feel like they're targeting Tarasenko, not necessarily at the deadline though.
