I wouldn't say its that high. You could probably package one of Kapanen/Sandin with a couple of picks and maybe a roster player and I imagine that would be enough.

They would still run with it. Keith is 35 and declining no way he is worth that much and toronto won't pay that for him either.

Why? Muzzin is younger, in his prime and playing better. that extra term hurts his value.

Leafs don't have cap for him this year and the future years. Probably no team contending does. He's virtually untradable partly due to his NTC.

If everyone is being honest here, there is no way a guy at Keith's age, with his term, in this era, would ever cost a huge return. Muzzin's deal was as big as it was due to one more year on an affordable contract. And even at that it was perhaps a bit high. Kieth would bring back a 1st and maybe a higher level prospect only if Chicago retained half his salary which would protect the team acquiring him in case he starts to decline in the near future.

I pray to the hockey gods above that we could get this for Keith. Realistically I think the price would be high just because he's a legend in Chicago but I think the Hawks would want Sandin or Kapanen plus the first, or maybe a second.

Yeah he's definitely an interesting case because he's 35 and still has a lot of term on his deal. I think he would be great on a contending team if he wasn't forced to be the number 1 defensemen. If he can play a normal top 4 role he would be a great addition to any team.
