Philly isn't gonna trade Gostisbehere for a guy like Marleau, and Kapanen isn't enough value coming back. So Obviously it's going to have to be Willie.

I dont see any need in doing this trade on both sides. Gosth is good offensive blueliner for Philly and they should upgrade their D corps on right side. Offence would be there. For Nylander I would want Konecny, Myers in package..

Gosth is just not needed on philly because he can’t not play 5v5 without making one error per game and I think Provorov could be better than him on the pp . Also Toronto has a big offense and can trade Nylander for a better offensive dman than Gardiner . They also have 2 millions move in cap space. And philly will not trade Konecny and Myers for Nylander .

That's a bit of a overeaction don't you think? No one goes an entire year without making mistakes. Remember Doughty in the playoffs last year? He made a couple terrible mistakes but he's still the best defenseman in the NHL or at least close to it. I think the Leafs defence is fine. I'd like to see Gardiner replaced with a better defensive righty but I am not worried about the current team.

I disagree entirely with the thought that losing Nylander is irrelevant to TO's offense. Matthews is far better at 5v5 with Nylander on his line than without him. Last night aside, Matthews' line hasn't been very good at 5v5

Gosth is not needed. He would be ran out of town just like Jake Gardiner is. He is hot garbage in his own zone despite his offensive capabilities which are great lets be honest.. Team like STL would want a guy like Gosth tbh.

I do that was irrelevant to Toronto offense but they can do it to get a better dman and to have 2 millions $ to spend on Marner , Kapanen , Johnson

He still have very great value and it seems like everyone is forgetting Ratcliffe in this trade

I'd rather move Kapanen or Johnsson for Defence help than Nylander. The difference between Nylander and Marner isn't nearly as big as people thing and the distance between Nylander and Kapanen is massive!

If you move Kapanen and Johnson your not gonna have a great player in the trade

Kapanen is on pace for close to 30 goals and 60 points. That, from a 22 year, is worth quite a bit.

2nd in the eastern conference. Its not a life and death situation. Which is why you don't overreact and over pay for a want. Not saying its at all a sure thing, but if this team won the cup this season as they currently are constructed, it wouldn't be that surprising. Its not like they are Montreal who know one thought would be good, they have been the 2nd best team for most of the season and top 5 for the whole season.

Gostisbehere replaces Gardiner's offence but doesn't address their defence, so no.

Might be a fair trade but it doesn't really help the Leafs with their cap issue next year. Just a saving of 2.5m. Nylander is logical trade for me, but maybe a trade around Frost, and Myers might be more practical for the Leafs. and maybe for the Flyers too as they give immediate help next year.
