I agree that the Sabres are not trading Dahlin and more would be needed to convince Betterall to trade away Dahlin.
Gustafsson is a good start, but at 27 he is on the upper end of the age that would fit into the rebuild. More to the point can he duplicate this year's performance for the next 6 years.
While Kahun fits the acceptable age, his past performance appears that he would be a 3rd line center, but Buffalo needs a good 2nd line center. Finally, Rodrigues is looking really good and should be Buffalo's 3rd line center for many years.
Beaudin is a decent prospect, but again Buffalo has other prospects equal to his apparent ceiling.
The first round picks are nice, but at least this years pick would need to be included in the trade.
While I really like Dahlin and think he will be anchoring the Defense for the next 10 years, Buffalo is still 3 to 4 players away from making the playoffs much less, compete for the Cup. Buffalo has a good top line (they are in a bit of a slump now), good bottom pairing (yes, Buffalo fans, Larsson and Girgensons are really good, both have really good Corsi stats even though they both have less then 20% OZ starts), and some defensemen to build around. But where are the middle six?
Finally, I agree Chicago is not going to trade away other players that fit into their resurgence.
This really does not work for either team I am afraid.

He is pretty much untouchable. His play as 18yr old NHL defenceman in every situation is insanely good!

that would never happen

I mean, this would never happen but this isn't even close to Dahlin's value. He's a once in a generation Defenseman that can do it all. For arguments sake I'd say start with Debrincat, Boqvist, your 2019 and 2020 1sts to get the conversation started.

Kane and Debrincat for Dahlin way more reasonable

LMAO Kane is top 5 player in the league...Dahlin is not even as big as his ceiling is. Cat is top 5 goal scorer in the league. Not a chance anyone in their right mind would give up Cat and Kane for Dahlin.
