I just signed Hayes because I think BUF will try to acquire a center in July. More importantly, what else needs to be added to this trade? Should BUF even trade the pick at all? Or is NYR giving up too much?

Well the Kreider extension is a non-starter, if that's not included BUF will not deal their draft pick.

I feel like they could in truth go and get both of them if they handle their contracts right. So what else would need to be added to this? Even if you would not do it, what do you think the fair price is?

A non playoff team has not interest in Kreider. Of course the Sabres did trade futures for one year of Skinner.

Except the Sabres
A) may be able to re-sign Skinner (they can offer that 8th year that nobody else can)
B) have a ton of cap space to acquire more than just Kreider and
C) may believe he will help them get to the postseason. Remember the first half of the season they played great.

I mean if there's an extension, I think you start with Buf 2020 pick and Buf adds.

sabers need a 2c/3c player (as Mittelstadt still needs development time )as well as a true shut down line. i am not a fan of the D corps but that will be fixed end of 2019-20 off season as 6 of them are in need of new contracts and i see us keeping 3 max.
