I bet Ehlers would really take off with the Habs, he isn't allowed to shine playing for the Jets mediocre coach and the crappy style he has them play.
He'd flourish playing the Habs style of game or on another team that plays that type of game.

So we're taking on a bad contract, and then downgrading Tatar to a (at least younger, but) worse player, with a worse contract, signed for longer, and we're giving up Juulsen and a 1st also? No way the habs do this.

Jets won’t trade Ehlers for cap reasons, same as Toronto won’t with Nylander, even if it made sense

They could "look into moving" anyone. Doesn't mean they will. GM'a take calls on almost every player on a daily basis. I'm sure there was some talk of it, doesn't mean it's serious.
