Add a veteran RSD, Tor gets to clear some salary and get some C/LW depth on short term contract. Ducks Can expose Zaitsev to the ED. Ducks make room for Comtois and Jones with Grant as a back up. No major contracts moved.

The trade is a brilliant idea. It answers primary needs for both teams. And I hope that you're right about Hakanpaa being able to play in the NHL.

Solid idea. I would not be surprised to see more moves this offseason from Bob Murray though, specifically with a guy like Nick Ritchie. Pretty evident he’s falling out of favor in Anaheim and I see him being on the move.

I disagree. 4.5 really isn't that much for a top-4, right-handed d-man and it's not like we have any better options to acquire one. He can skate, log upwards to 20 minutes a game, be a key penalty killer and at least has the capacity to put up points unless his rookie year was a total aberration. There's not a chance we can find a player like that in free agency and we simply don't have one coming up through the ranks. I'd prefer the player we traded though were Ritchie but I think this trade makes a whole lot of sense.

Ducks would never make this trade, Zaitsev is crap and his contract is crap. He is not a top-4 Dman.
