Leafs management - "Yes!"
... Marleau wouldn't waive his NMC. He either retires of plays for Toronto of San Jose next year, and only if Toronto retains on him. So unfortunately it doesn't happen

Pittsburgh has no reason whatsoever to make any of these trades.

I think Marleau wants a cup most of all, and it clearly hasnt worked in Toronto. With the cap crunch, its not going to be the same Toronto team with him. So he takes a shot with Pitt who is built very well. Get the 3 lines going again in Pitt, they have a better shot than Toronto. Marleau - Malkin is a better pair than Marleau - anyone in Toronto

Except you didn't do that in this scenario.

All you've done is **** up the cap space even more and make the team worse too

Toronto has a better shot at the cup next season than Pittsburgh does.. Pens were just swept and appear to be on the decline and in panic mode saying that they're willing to move basically anyone. Marleau enjoys Toronto a lot. His family does. He's not waiving his NMC unless he retires or goes back to San Jose on the cheap. That's the reality

Sabres reject. Pilut is already better than Maatta. Sabres want a true 2nd center, not another 3rd center in bstad

All the players worth signing are signed past next year, except Pilut and Brown, while they drop Bjugstad, whos over paid for what he does, Marleau drops off in 1 year freeing up 6.25. Pilut gets a raise, but thats it. Gauthier still on his elc develops some more and gives them some decent looking prospects again. So the cap starts opening up. They have a ton of D depth. Pilut = maatta (without a bad contract), Marleau > Bjugstad, Brown > a 1 mill ufa. So once again you comment is just produced by some weird bias against me that i have yet to understand.

I think Toronto is the cap era New York Rangers, plenty of money (a lot in the wrong places) and talent but they dont have what it takes for the playoff grind.

The Pens need to get better now before Malkin and Crosby get into their late 30's. None of the moves you've made help them do that.

They're still closer than Pittsburgh despite what you may think.. Marleau doesn't waive.

These trades are literally cancer. The only one that might benefit the pens is the Carolina trade. And that’s only if Jarry beats Desmith out for the back up job in the preseason next year.

I like the Pens, but Pens fans make me happy that the team is falling apart and theyre about to go through 20 years of meaningless hockey

On what planet are they falling apart? Most of their team is signed for the next 3 years?

What are you talking about?
We turned a 30 year old Hagelin into a 27 year old Gudbranson, we turned a 31 year old Brassard and 27 year old Sheahan into a 26 year old Bjugstad and a 22 year old McCann, Guentzel, Blueger, Simon, Rust, ZAR, Riikola, Dumoulin, Maatta, Murray, DeSmith, Petterson, Adam Johnson are all 27 and younger and are all played in the nhl this year so they will next year too. Schultz is only 28.

Yeah...cause we are getting a franchise player in this trade ?. And we have a couple franchise players, they just happen to be 31. They still have a few years left of elite play. It’s not like there are any young enough franchise players that aren’t going to take them into their mid-late 30s on a big contract that’s available.
