Nashville has as much of a chance or greater than Toronto to win the cup and can absorb Marleau for a year. No state tax means Marleau would actually make slightly more money so I see no reason he wouldn't waive to go there. Nylander proved in the playoffs he can play centre. Moving PK frees up space to resign Josi. Trade made after July 1st.
well, point of order, if Marleau is traded after the 1st, he's paying Toronto taxes on his signing bonus. Your point about him making more money in a tax free market is kind of tough to understand if he's making the majority of his money in toronto....

Not to mention that Nylander probably doesn't net Subban straight up, let alone get you Scissons as well.
This is a leaf thread. Nylander is worth subban and kapanen is worth Peasce. Brown worth 2nd. kadri is worth 1st, 2nd and top prospect.
Get use to it. Leaf fans are so unrealistic. Just wait for when reality hits. Cant wait for the fire Dubas post.
All of these threads are just wishful thinking whether it be a Leafs thread or any other team. That's the whole point of ARMCHAIR-GM. Fact is no one is smart enough to be a GM and that's why we're all here in fantasy land.
Why does Marleau accept the trade? He moved his whole family from San Jose to Toronto. He has young kids and family in the area. But hey if it helps it helps Toronto sure, I will wave because I am all about that. Come your reasoning is totally flawed.
Nashville has Nylanders all over the lineup, they need some grit and not a washed up Flyer.

Signing bonuses are taxed at 25% in Canada... far less than any state, even with no state taxes. He would then get taxed less on his remaining salary.
That being said this is pure fantasy. Just thought people should be aware when they are always spouting off about state taxes in fl,tn,nv and tx.
