Because paying Nylander to be a star for Calgary is creative? This is hands down the worst idea I have ever seen on here.

Calgary was unwilling to give up Andersson for Stone. They’re not gonna give him for Nylander.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I dont believe Leafs have the rights to Miro Aaltonen anymore as he left for the KHL and also he wouldn't hold any value as there is no guarantee he returns to the NHL.

This info can be viewed on the teams “reserve list” on this site. Says until he is 27.

Yeah that is because they knew they wouldn't be able to resign him. Not because Stone with a new contract is < Andersson. Come on now.... rolling eyes

The more accurate assessment is Stone (with no certainty of resigning him) was turned down for Andersson. That makes way more sense.

Regardless of Stone walking or not. If Calgary believes in Anderson enough not to trade him for a rental. They’d be better off trading one of their top 2 RHD in Brodie or Hamonic and then moving him up in the lineup to acquire Nylander. Unless the deal is can’t refuse I don’t see them trading him. And this ain’t it. Regardless of value here
