Change the 7th in the Ottawa Trade for a 2nd or 3rd.

I really like the other trades. Not convinced trouba would sign in buffalo but he would be the perfect partner for Dahlin.

Is bogosian hurt or are you just fudging it?

I don’t think so. Nylander may be good, maybe not. The first is late... very late lol.

I don’t see buffalo being able to get in on trouba in ufa, this would be an excellent chance to do him a solid by getting him out of Canada, maybe he signs long term.

Yes, but with perreault being essentially a cap dump for Winnipeg, it evens out

Overpaid=/=capdump, hes still very solid, he had 15 goals and assists and this is his 1st season under 39 pts and second under 40 in 6 yrs, and he can play center and left wing

For a team who's in a cap situation a cap dump is a cap dump

He can still play, a bit overpaid (million tops) going to a team that desperately needs Centre depth. I would say it’s close to neutral.

He's not really a center anymore, hasn't played it in years but he's still a pretty good player, had the Jets coach not cut his ice time for a plug (Brandon Tanev) he probably would've had a bit better numbers and then his salary is pretty fair for his point totals.
I think he'd be a great depth piece for the Sabres.

He’s a vet that can play centre, on the sabres... he’s a centre.

This is a concerning idea. Our centers after eichel last year were garbage, two of them- specifically sobotka and berglund- were guys that had played center but werent really centers, that were brought in, apparently to throw gasoline on a fire. I dont hate the idea of bringing in a guy like perreault who is probably a little overpaid, but if the guy cant play center it doesnt help much. Just saying hes better than sobotka and a very young mittlestadt leaves an awful lot of room to be terrible again.

2C's are hard to find, why not just take a run at signing Hayes? Though after Skinner idk if there's room for the almost 6 to 6.5 Hayes will be looking for. I think Haula or Eakin would be good for the Sabres and Vegas is gonna need to shed salary and either could be acquired pretty cheaply, they're both more of really good 3C's but could at least be good stop gaps till Middlestadt is ready to be a bonafide 2C.
I think Sabres fans would like Perreault though, for the most part he's a fan favorite in Winnipeg.

Mittelstadt will be fine with real wingers like reinhart on his line.

Trouba >>>>> ristolainen, hence the 1st and nylander despite perreault

Or you could move montour and nylander for kappy and Kadri.... just an idea, though I donn’t think divisional trades like that happen often.

Yeah that'd work pretty well for both teams, would really help the Sabres take a step.
You should do that trade on here, see if fans of both teams lose their minds.. Lol

Am I crazy to think Hayes gets 7? I think all 3 of those names have been suggested as reasonable stop gaps by sabre fans, I think the Vegas idea makes the most sense.

I don't think it's that crazy, what'd Evander Kane ever really do to warrant a $7×7 contract?
Hayes has put up fairly similar numbers and plays a tougher position to fill so between cap inflation and centers being tough to find its possible some GM might give him that, I don't think he's worth that but hey it's possible.
Yup grabbing one of those guys from Vegas for a 2nd or something like that is Buffalo's best bet plus they'll both be in contract years so probably would get great seasons out of either of them.

Our gm just traded for montour, of our rhd, he's the last one that gets moved. Bogosian was better last year, but he has been inconsistent and frequently injured in his time here, and he's in his final year. Ristolainen may or may not be moved, but if he stays he needs 2 healthy solid rhd to play with so he can be used properly. Actually, even with those 3 we are still missing a rhd that's solid in their own end. Moving any for forward help is borrowing from Peter to pay paul. So even if they get a pesce or somebody like that, montour is still the least likely to be moved.
