Honestly dont think NYR and CHI are good trade parters for Vesey or Strome. Other teams would definitely pay a third for depth scoring tho.

That leaves Buffalo with 5 RHD and Shattenkirk fighting Bogo and Nelson to get in the lineup. I dont mind exploring a trade for Shattenkirk though

You'd play Casey Nelson over Shattenkirk?

Curious Avs fan about the Bigras-Graves trade last year. Graves played some solid hockey for us and looks to be our 7th D going into next season. Bigras didn't play for you guys this year but just curious if you think he'll ever suit up for the rangers. He's got the talent but I guess it just hasn't clicked for him yet.

No, very unlikely he plays for the Rangers. They have a log-jam in the NHL, and a log-jam among recently drafted prospects. Rangers need a RD in Hartford.

Maybe, Nelson has really good stats albeit a small sample size

So this is a trade of equal cap except Buffalo adds another year. From a pure talent exchange Buffalo wins the trade.
Well with Bogosian possibly on LTIR, Montour, Ristolainen and Shattenkirk would make the RHD look very strong.
IMO Pilut was injured early and his play dropped off dramatically. Dahlin, McCabe and Pilut on the left side is more than adequate.
Finally, this trade make perfect sense for Buffalo, Shattenkirk offers maybe a little more offense than Ristolainen which means Ristolainen could then be moved for more offense.

I would not. I know Nelson looked good but Shattenkirk up to last year was essentially 0.5pt/gm defenseman. I make the trade.
Let's make a deal! cheers
