No, because Seabs won't waive. The only chance of Seabs waiving is going home to Toronto and even then, highly unlikely.

As an NYR fan, I wouldn't want to go anywhere near this trade

If Seabrook would waive his clause, I think they would definitely consider it.

laugh laugh This is laugh No way in hell the Hawks are moving the #3 overall pick for this crap, I wouldn't move Detroit's 6th for this garbage.

You'd be stupid not to, its a pretty decent package (moving back to the 20th pick in the draft to get a top 6 winger, potential #1 G of the future, and late 2nd rounder while unloading one of the worst contracts in the league)

NYR should not get more ****ty D contracts though, especially one with 5 more years on it

A bunch of reasons. A.) He played 19+ min a game last year. Sure, it wasn't Norris worthy, but 19 min is still a significant role to fill. B.) He's the only Blackhawks Dman that can move bodies away from in front of Crow. C.) He costs too much to shed because of his 5 years left. What ever team gets him will charge an arm and a leg...while actually imrpvoing the defense for a year or 2. If you're going to pay this kind of price...make sure it's for only bad years.

The Seabrook contract legit is the worst in the NHL. 3OA is a massive asset but in this draft 3-10/12 are kinda close. Feel like there are trades NYR can make that to get into that tier that don’t bring the Staal contract 2.5x back to NYR Cap.
