Marner at 9 on a bridge deal sounds good, long term at 9 will never happen. Marner's value will drop when other RFA superstars sign for less than 9 million. Such as Point, Tkchuck, Aho, Rantanen, Laine. The rookie GM worst mistake is to be the first to resign, he made that mistake with Nylander, setting a new value for 60 point players. Dubas needs to let the more experience GM's set the bar. All those other RFA's play in small market or super cheap franchises.

Aside from Myers taking a pay cut when he could get a raise in sunny Southern California, the Carolina trade seems particularly ill-founded. Necas is one of only three right-handed forwards the Hurricanes have, so why they would trade the player they are hoping will soon be their number 2 center for Andreas Johnsson is beyond me.

I dont believe it's a pay cut for Myers but just my opinion.

I agree with you on Marner...but what dollar figure he gets...well I don't think too many people will agree with me on that.
As for Myers, I see what you are saying but this will be his last big contract and whether he plays after this one won't matter.
He will want a bump in the salary of 5.5mill he made this past season.
